CPL at The Canton Farmer's Market
On Sunday, August 19, CPL staff visits the Canton Farmer's Market to host storytimes and crafts. On this Sunday, Canton Leisure Service will also be holding a book exchange. All are invited to bring their gently used books to the market where you may exchange with other book lovers for some fresh titles to add to your home library. The Canton Farmer's Market is open from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Storytimes are at 10:00 AM and Noon. Open to all ages.

Canton is very proud of Olympic Gold Medal Winner Allison Schmitt, who won gold, silver and bronze medals in swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. If you would like to help celebrate this hometown champion there will be a celebration rally on Tuesday, August 14 at 6:00 PM at Heritage Park Amphitheater. Children's Traditional Yoga Basics
On Wednesday, September 5 from 7:00-7:45 PM, Thirupu Siva will teach children five-nine years old the basic asanas building up to intermediate poses. If attending, please wear loose fitted clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel on which to learn. Starfish Family Services: Problem Solving I
On Thursday September 13, from 6:30-8:30 PM, Starfish Family Services will present the first part of their informative parenting workshop on Problem Solving with your child. Titled "Turning Conflicts into Learning", they will present strategies for using conflict situations to develop important social skills as well as methods of using natural or logical consequences for setting limits. This program is developed for parents, grandparents and caregivers of children birth to five years old. Children are welcome as Starfish provides licensed daycare in the Purple Room during the workshop.

Practice speaking English in an informal setting with Community Literacy Council volunteer Judy Elliott, September Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the Purple Room.
