This application is for first time library card applicants who are residents of Canton, Michigan.

Every three years (on your birthday), we ask you to renew your library card and update your contact information, ensuring that you receive messages regarding your account. For your security and the integrity of your personal information, we only renew your library card in person at our Circulation Desk.

Authorized Access

It is the policy of Canton Public Library that all library records are kept confidential and only shared with the cardholder and/or as a result of appropriate legal orders. If you wish others to have access to your or your child’s account, please indicate below:

I can change or void this list at any time by presenting identification to the library & requesting that individuals be removed or added to the list. This request must be made in person.

Your online card will expire one month from the date of issue. Renewal to be made in person with proper identification at the circulation desk.

Applying Online

You will need to present a current driver's license or state identification card, or one piece of photo identification and something that verifies your local address (such as a utility bill) the first time you use your card
Applicants under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has proof of residency the first time the card is used
By submitting this form, you acknowledge that you are responsible for the use of the library card and any related charges per the library’s policies. You certify that you are legally responsible for any minor child on this application and all materials borrowed on the card. You further understand that library staff will not monitor the use of the card and the borrowing of materials and/or computer usage of your child.
