Thanks for your question. If, after trying the MeL catalog, you are unable to find or get the item you want, you can contact our Interlibrary loan department using the Interloan Request form which can be found by clicking on the "Borrowing" link on our web site. Unfortunately, though, because of budgetary cutbacks at The Library Network, we no longer have access to their interloan service as in the past, and so we are unable to request out of state items using them as a resource.
An alternative method of borrowing from out of state libraries is available to us, however it involves a much longer time frame to receive the item, and in some cases such requests may take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

I've used the MEL system many times before, but now after I enter Canton as the library I want to use, it asked for my user name and 14 digit library number which I enter. This always yields an error and requested me to start my MEL search again.

In aditioon to this problem, I would like a MEL loan of "Composing Pictures" by Donald W Graham.

thx

I think the issue may be your use of your username instead of your real name.

On the MeLCat system, you should login with your library card number and actual name on your library account, not your username. I just submitted your request for "Composing Pictures" using your actual name and library card number, and was successful. You should receive a hold pickup notice when your interlibrary loan has arrived.

Hope that helps!

I apologize for the inconvenience; new items are not available for interlibrary loan. This is a condition of the agreement with MeLCat. We can, however, order the item for you to place in our collection; please visit our Suggest Materials page and enter your information, and the librarian who selects in that area will consider the title. If it is ordered, you will be placed on the request list for it.

Thank you for your suggestion!
