My husband is red/green colour-blind. With the current check out system, he can't tell when an item has been checked out (yellow --> green). This is a significant barrier for visual users. I'm surprised that "colour blindness" was not addressed when looking at usability. 40-45% of male pop has this colour-blindness issue. You could fix with changing from yellow to blue. Thanks.

You are referring to our new self-check machines, on which the title of the item being checked out changes from yellow to green once the transaction is complete. The software that these machines run on was developed by our automation system vendor; we have contacted them to ask about adding an icon or some other visual indicator that the transaction is complete. Changing the color to blue, as you suggest, wouldn't work as well with the blue background. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this problem, and we hope a resolution is forthcoming from our vendor.
