Don't Miss Author at Friends Annual Luncheon
For early and first-time visitors to the library's new public blog, I wanted to give a big plug to the Friends' luncheon speaker, Steve Lehto, on May 1. The link above offers more detail (place, time, etc.). I've heard Steve speak. He's engaging and informative. His book, Death's Door, focuses on one of the most tragic incidents in Michigan history--the Italian Hall massacre in the Copper Country on Christmas Eve, 1913. He attempts to dispel inaccurate accounts that have persisted through the years, including the biggest of all, that the exit doors opened inward. Ticket information for Lehto's May 1 appearance can be obtained from the library (397-0999).
