Coming up this weekend . . .
If your calendar isn't already full for the weekend, here are some things to fill it up fast. Canton Township's Hazardous Waste Disposal Day is Saturday, September 8 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Canton's Department of Public Works Building, located at 4847 Sheldon Road. It's an excellent opportunity for Canton residents to make their homes and environment safe by properly disposing of waste that is considered toxic, flammable, or corrosive. Catch a football double header at the high schools on Friday. Plymouth takes on Wayne at 4:30 p.m. and Salem tackles Livonia Stevenson at 7:30 p.m. Canton is away at Northville, kick off is 7 p.m. Over at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill you can see Alexander Zonjic w/sg Alex Bugnon at 8 p.m. on Friday; tickets are $20. Saturday is the opening performance of Orchestra Canton featuring scores and songs from popular movies and films. You could also visit the 52nd Annual Plymouth Fall Festival in downtown Plymouth. Start off Friday night with the Chamber of Commerce Taste fest behind E.G. Nicks, then get up Saturday morning for the traditional Kiwanis pancake breakfast. Enjoy food and drink from various vendors and service clubs all day long and a spaghetti dinner hosted by the morning Rotary Club. Cap it all off with the world famous Rotary Chicken BBQ. There's more than just food--live entertainment, carnival rides and games galore happen all weekend. Plus a craft show, car show and 5k run. There's plenty to do in our community this weekend so get out there!
