The Grateful Dead: A Meditation on Music, Meaning, and Memory

I met Gary Burnett, a professor of information studies from Florida State, on a Milwaukee airport shuttle the other day. We are both in town for a conference on social computing and I learned that he uses a text book written by one of my former professors, for a course on abstracting and indexing. Gary and I also share a passion for similiar genres of music. When I looked him up on the web I found, among many interesting links, a particularly engaging essay about his experiences at Grateful Dead concerts, which I've linked from the title of this post. Your either on the shuttle or you're off the shuttle :)
