Mr. Rothman has assembled a wonderful book entitled "Mark Rothman's Essays: Many About Show Biz and All About Life." Come meet him and hear his incredible tales from the classic years of sitcom TV. Frugal Living Series

Professional organizer, Susan Carmody, of the National Association of Professional Organizers and her local company, Perfectly Placed, along with Mary Vangieson, the Wayne County Resource Recovery Coordinator, will give us a head start on Spring cleaning. They will share easy tips on getting organized and recycling in our homes. Bring your old mercury thermometers and replace them with a new digital one. Clean up your act and join us on Thursday, May 12 at 7:00PM in the Community Room. No registration is needed.

Mother Daughter Book Discussion

The Canton Public Library is the recipient of a Giving Hope Women's Giving Circle Grant. Money from this grant is used for this Mother Daughter Book Discussion, a group for girls and their mothers or other significant women in their lives. This month's book selection is Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Register online beginning Saturday, May 7, then pick up your books at the Children's Desk.

Managing Employees and Social Media: How To Keep Yourself Out of Trouble

Aaron Graves, a labor and employment attorney, will discuss the ins and outs of your rights and your employee's rights when it comes to social networking. Murder Will Out: A Conversation with Charlaine Harris

Charlaine Harris, author of the popular Sookie Stackhouse series AKA True Blood on HBO, will speak at the Michigan Theater on Monday, May 16 at 7:30PM. Free Comic Book Day!

The first Saturday of May each year is Free Comic Book Day. This year it will be Saturday, May 7th and you will have a chance to get free comic books. A limited number will be available at the library, but more can be had by visiting our local comic store, Comic City, located at 42727 Ford Road, Canton, MI. Comic lovers of all ages across North America and around the world will be enjoying this special event. Join them!

May is Older Americans Month 2011

Since 1963, May has been declared Older Americans Month by the Agency on Aging. The theme of this year's celebration — Older Americans: Connecting the Community — pays homage to the many ways in which older adults bring inspiration and continuity to the fabric of our communities. It also highlights the many ways technology is helping older Americans live longer, healthier and more engaged lives. Canton Public Library offers a variety of programs this month which should interest older adults:
