The Canton Seniors Book Group meets on the fourth Thursday of the every month (except December) from 2:00-3:00 PM in Group Study Room A.  Librarians Elaine Skrzynski and Joyce Simowski alternately lead the discussion. No registration required.

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar? Our first suspect, Marvin Mouse, can be found by searching the online catalog. Follow the clues to find the culprit, then find the missing cookies somewhere in the library. Once you've found the culprit, submit a ticket from the CYS Command Center spinner rack with your name and email for a chance to win a prize. (All prize drawing winners will be notified by email.) Don't forget to claim your Sleuth It badge online by Saturday, July 16.

This is a "wild badge", and will only be available from July 11 - July 16, so be sure to act quickly! And be on the lookout for other wild badges throughout the summer!

Elizabeth George, author of the Inspector Lyndsey series, winner of the Agatha Award for "Best First Novel" in 1988 and the 1989 Anthony Award for "Best First Novel" for A Great Deliverance, will be at Nicola's Books in Ann Arbor on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:00PM.   

A wide variety of events has been scheduled for Seniors interested in competing in the First Annual Canton Senior Games, which are scheduled to take place August 23-25.  Canton Club 55+ will offer a variety events in which seniors may compete in for a nominal fee for a chance to win in their age category.   
 
Events include:Sports Tournaments (Golf, Pickleball, Tennis, Billiards), Cards/Wii Games (Euchre, Pinochle, Will Bowling), and Field Games (Bean Bag Toss, Bocce Ball, Frisbee Toss, Softball Throw, Basketball Shot, Soccer Kick, Football Toss) 
 
Competitions will take place throughout Canton at:  Pheasant Run Golf Club, Summit on the Park, Heritage Park, Freedom Park and Griffin Park.  Registration begins online at www.cantonfun.org July 11, 2016 for Canton Residents and July 18, 2016 for non-residents.  For additional information, call the Canton Club 55+ front desk at 734.394.5485.

Show your love for all animals by stopping by to say hello to our fish. If you're really into showing your love, you might share your favorite book with them. The fish are great listeners.

Up the geek factor by wearing something geeky or bringing a lightsaber to hold while you snap your photo. To be eligible for prize opportunities, share your selfie on social media with the #CYSreturnofthefun hashtag, and don’t forget to claim your Geek Out badge online and submit a ticket at the CYS Command Center near the Self Service Area. (Don’t have a camera? See someone at the children’s desk.)

How well do you know your history? Complete one of our Timeline Challenges to find out. One focuses on library history and the other has a wider scope.

Use the event magnets on the whiteboard located near the Children's Reference Desk to put one of the timelines in order. For library events, explore our About Us page if you need hints. When you've finished, fill out a ticket form from our spinner rack and submit it to the drop box. Don't forget to include your email so you can be notified if you're a prize drawing winner.
