Most of our books are shelved together in what we call the "stacks":  Informational books have numbers on their spines and are grouped by subjects. There is a wide range of reading levels so even young children will find a book they will enjoy here.  Biographies are shelved along the back wall and are arranged by the person you want to read about.

Easy fiction will meet the need of the second to early fourth graders who want a fun story about animals, school, family life, friends and historical times.  The older child who is in the fourth to sixth grade, can find a wide selection in the fiction area.   Illustrated Fiction is a great collection of picture books for older readers.
For parents, we have a Parenting Collection to supplement the parenting books in the Adult Department.

Our Michigan Quilt was made by a couple of our Children's Librarians and it displays many of the state's symbols along with many other images symbolic of Michigan. It hangs above our Michigan collection. If you are looking for a book about Michigan or Michigan trees, birds, history, or folklore-that's where you will find them.
