Summer Reading Edition

Online Registration Alert!
All registered programs require each child to have their own library card and register online.

  • No phone registration will be accepted.
  • To register for any children’s or tween program, all kids MUST have a library card registered with Canton Public Library’s system.
  • Add your email address to your child's library card to get storytime and other programming updates.

Programs for Everyone!
Summer Reading Kick Off
Start your Summer Reading off right! Come to the library to sign everyone ages 2 and up for Summer Reading. No advanced registration required. If you can't make it that day, come in anytime before July 25 to sign up.
Ages: 2 through Adult
Time: Monday, June 16 @ 9am-9pm
Location: Community Room
Fun in the Sun
Take a break from your summer reading and have some fun in the sun. Activities include games, crafts, music and food! There will be fun for the whole family! Registration not required. Activities will take place behind the library.
Time: Wednesday, July 9 @ 12 –2pm
Rain Date: Thursday, July 10 @ 12–2pm
Location: Outdoors
Create – a – Craft
Drop by the Children’s Department and have fun with other kids making crafts to take home. Registration not required.
Ages: 2 year olds – 4th graders
Time: Monday, July 14 @ 11am-1pm
Location: Purple Room
Family Fairy House Program
The entire family can join us to create fairy houses, outdoors, on the grounds of the library. Bring your own supply of all natural building materials: bark, leaves, twigs, acorns, seed pods, etc. and get creative. (If the weather is bad an alternative indoor fairy program will take place in the Community Room.)

Programs for the Young Child
Beverly Meyer – The Music Lady
Beverly Meyer will share songs, joy, and movement with children and their families. Come and sing and dance along! Registration not required.

Watch “Clifford: Big Fun in the Sun” on the big screen and do a doggone fun craft. Registration not required.

ABC Activity Time
Come explore sensory activities, puzzles, nesting and matching games, alphabet cubes, flip books and the LeapPad Learning System with your young child.. Registration is not required.

Magicians – Philip and Henry Productions
Are you ready for a high-energy magic show, and lots of audience participation and interaction!? Registration not required.

Animal Magic
This show features magic as a unique and amusing way to introduce children to a vast array of exotic animals. The list of animals varies, but it could include parrots, opossums and giant snakes. Registration not required.

Miss Spider’s Tea Party

Book Buddies

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Come learn how to make your own ice cream. Add some extra toppings to make a delicious ice cream sundae. Online registration begins July 15. Pick one timeslot.

Tie Dye Fun!

Grandparent Fun @ the Canton Public Library
Do you watch your grandchildren on a regular basis? Looking for something fun and different to do with them? Want to meet other grandparents who babysit too? Come to a meeting of the CPL Grandparents Group for a fun activity with your grandchildren and resources just for care-giving grandparents.

Online Registration: Apply for your Child’s Library Card Today!
To participate in online registration you MUST have either a Canton Public Library card or a card from your home library that is recorded in our system,. So apply for your child’s library card today! To register for storytime and all other Library programs, your child MUST have his or her own library card.

To get a library card, apply in person or online at http://www.cantonpl.org/cardreq.html. You will need to present a current driver’s license or state identification card, or one piece of photo identification and something that verifies your local address (such as a utility bill). Children under 16 will need a parent to present ID.
