Public Library Catalog

|

You
may search the catalog by:
-
Author-
Use this option if you know the person made the work;
such as the author of a book, or the actor in a video.
Make sure you type in the last name
first and that you spell it correctly! For example:
Cleary, Beverly will give you a list of all
the books by Beverly Cleary that the library owns.
-
Title
- Use this option if you know the exact name of the
book, video, or other item. Leave off the words
"A," "An," or "The"
at the beginning of the title. For example: Three
Bears OR Cat in the Hat.
-
Subject -
Use this option to find information on a particular
topic for a report, etc. For example: Mammals
OR Spain. Again, be sure you
spell everything correctly. Subject headings are
very specific, so if you don't find what you are looking
for, you might want to try the search again using the
"Words" option (see below) or using another
search term, or ask a librarian for help.
-
Words in the
title, contents or series-
Use this option if you know some of the words in the
title but not the whole title, or if you know one of
the things the book is about, or if you know the series
the book is in. For example: Potter Phoenix
(for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix")
OR Dogs (for a book that has the word
"dogs" in the title or that is about dogs)
OR Magic School Bus (to get a list
of the Magic School Bus books).
