Volunteer

Friends of the Library

Our Friends participate in fundraising and assisting with the special library events they sponsor (Patron Celebration Day, book and author luncheons, etc.)

Book Crew Group

Book Crew Volunteers work two-hour shifts in the Secondhand Prose Used Bookshop, located next to the Internet Lab, by the magazines.

Service Volunteers

Our Service Volunteers are a very special group of people who donate their time to help us keep the library running smoothly and efficiently. Their volunteer assignments may range from cutting scrap paper, dusting library shelves or watering plants to shelving, processing library materials or withdrawing items from the database. Library Service Volunteers must be at least (14) years old.

Tween Advisory Board

The Tween Advisory Board (TWAB) is for tweens in grades 5 and 6. The TWAB's mission is to create a positive tween force in the library; encourage tweens to become life-long library users; to promote tween reading, tween programs, and tween participation in the library; and to make the library experience one tweens can enjoy.

Community service credit is awarded to members of the TWAB, so those who attend meetings are expected to be long term participants of the group. Therefore, community service credit is given after a member has participated in 5 meetings.

How to Volunteer

When volunteer positions are available, they are posted on the front page of our website. At that time, you can print out a Volunteer Application and return it to the Reception Desk. We do not keep volunteer applications on file. Please refer to the CPL Volunteer Program Code of Conduct for details/restrictions.
