Improving Service and Saving Money

I recently requested an article from a trade publication that the library did not have. The article was photocopied from the publication at another library, and then forwarded to me through the mail.
Proposal:
Why not email me a PDF version of the article. This would save time, and I could recieve my article quickly. More importantly this would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the Library's costs.

im going to assume you are some kind of administrator, but if you are trying to save money or looking for funds for the meeting why not charge a small dues from the animanga members?
like when i was in girlscouts we had to bring dues to each meeting, it wasnt much. five bucks maybe?
anywho im almost 100% sure that 9 out of 10 members would be more than willing to contribute to the animanga funds, everyone loves those meetings. its more than just a monthly get-together for them, trust me i love the meetings more than i should too.
ive heard there are around 30 regular members by now (unfortuantly i havent been to a meeting in a long time so i cant be sure) but if you ask them to donate five dollars each thats at least $150.
anywho thats just my two cents. do what you will with it. i dont know, just a suggestion if the library is even allowed to do stuff like that.
Neko, I think this thread got posted in the wrong spot, as it's not animanga related, though a good idea none the less for the library. As for your idea about contributing funds to the animanga club, as a non-profit organization we try not to charge for our services as much as possible, since people are already paying, in a way, via taxes. It's good to know the support is there though (!), and if people ever wanted to bring something like snacks to the meeting to share with others it would be much appreciated, but definitely not required.
ooooooooooooooooh
i see.
...
how the hell did that thread get here then?
oh well.
yeah, there is much support for the animanga meetings from its loyal members :3
i understand its a non profit thign, but if there ever seems to be something wrong with the budget its an idea.
Good idea. We are constrained by the procedures of the lending institution, with respect to the format of requested materials. But if the borrower's e-mail address is available to us we could, indeed, save money by scanning the material and forwarding it. We will discuss the possibility of adopting such measures internally.
