Economy's Impact on Family Violence

Family Violence: The Economy's Impact and How You Can Help is a free community program on Tues. June 2, 7:45 to 9 p.m. at St. Thomas a'Becket Church, 555 S. Lilley, Canton (just south of Cherry Hill). The guest speaker will be Judith Barr, LMSW, ACSW, a Canton resident and director of Sexual Assault Programs, Prevention and Intervention at First Step, Western and Downriver Wayne County's Project on Domestic and Sexual Violence. She will share a short video of domestic violence survivors sharing their personal stories, discuss the economy's impact on family violence, and talk about ways you can help yourself or a loved one involved in dating or domestic violence. This program is sponsored by the Peace and Justice Committee at St. Thomas a'Becket Church. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call (734) 981-1333.
