Manga Drawing Contest 2010
Enter CPL’s manga drawing contest and you could win one of three great prizes. Last day to enter is August 1; winners will be announced at the Summer Reading Celebration on August 14.
Contest Rules
- Entries must be submitted by students entering 5th – 12th grade. Winners will be chosen in 3 divisions: 5th-6th, 7th-9th, 10th-12th
- All art must be your own, but the drawings can be of anything: a copy of your favorite character, an original character you’ve made up, or a story in comic strip form. You may get inspiration or instruction from a book, but please do not copy the images inside exactly
- Limit of 2 art entries per person
- All drawings must fit on an 8½ by 11 piece of paper. You may use any medium to create your artwork
- This year, in honor of our summer reading theme 'Making Waves', bonus points will be awarded to artwork that incorporates a little bit of something water related (It could be as simple as rain in the background, as loosely related as a washing machine or a turtle, or as over the top as a mermaid riding a whale or a water based attack). This element is not necessary, though, to enter, nor to win
- All participants' entries, with consent, will be displayed on the Canton Public Library webpage. *Note, if you are under 18 it is assumed that you have your parents' permission to have your artwork displayed online
- The deadline for all entries is Sunday, August 1, 2010. Paper entries will be available for pick up after August 14. Last day to retrieve artwork is September 1
- You can submit your artwork using the paper entry form here (if so, please drop off your artwork in a manila envelope with your name on it at the library), or the form below
