Manga Drawing Contest 2010

Enter CPL’s manga drawing contest and you could win one of three great prizes. Last day to enter is August 1; winners will be announced at the Summer Reading Celebration on August 14.

Contest Rules

  1. Entries must be submitted by students entering 5th – 12th grade. Winners will be chosen in 3 divisions: 5th-6th, 7th-9th, 10th-12th
  2. All art must be your own, but the drawings can be of anything: a copy of your favorite character, an original character you’ve made up, or a story in comic strip form. You may get inspiration or instruction from a book, but please do not copy the images inside exactly
  3. Limit of 2 art entries per person
  4. All drawings must fit on an 8½ by 11 piece of paper. You may use any medium to create your artwork
  5. This year, in honor of our summer reading theme 'Making Waves', bonus points will be awarded to artwork that incorporates a little bit of something water related (It could be as simple as rain in the background, as loosely related as a washing machine or a turtle, or as over the top as a mermaid riding a whale or a water based attack). This element is not necessary, though, to enter, nor to win
  6. All participants' entries, with consent, will be displayed on the Canton Public Library webpage. *Note, if you are under 18 it is assumed that you have your parents' permission to have your artwork displayed online
  7. The deadline for all entries is Sunday, August 1, 2010. Paper entries will be available for pick up after August 14. Last day to retrieve artwork is September 1
