Read a Michigan Mystery

I read a book to earn this badge:
The Danger Box by Blue Balliett

The Danger Box by Blue Balliett — This wasn't my favorite of Balliett's books, but it was still an interesting mystery. It ended up being more about Charles Darwin and scientific investigation than I expected, and had a little less Michigan flavor than I was hoping for, but still enjoyable.

Mini vacation at Boyne Mountain

Boyne Mountain--about four hours north of Canton-- isn't just a winter resort for skiers and snowboarders: In spring, it's a good spot to hunt morels; in summer, Boyne is a golf and tennis resort, plus it has a lake with a nice beach. Plenty of trails for hiking, and you can disc golf on the slopes or go zip lining down the mountain. It's also home to Avalanche Bay indoor water park.

I sang the national anthem

I did a paper asking you what the flowers names were. I had a hard time. But I did it! Yipee!!

Traveled to Muskegon/Lake Mi

Though we went to Muskegon for my nephew's graduation party, I couldn't resist a brief side trip to the beach and Lake Michigan. It's been a few years since we've been to the Lake Michigan shoreline; almost forgot how gorgeous it is. The beach in Muskegon has pristine, fine white sand, and the water was clean and positively sparkling in the afternoon sun
