Get Well/Be Well with Health Goals

Remember: your body is a temple. Take control of your health by setting (and meeting) goals to improve your health. Begin a new fitness routine. Make a plan to improve your eating habits. Take up an active hobby, such as bicycling or playing a sport. Make goals you can achieve this summer, for example:
  • Walk for 30 minutes, 5x a week
  • Quit drinking soda for (at least) one month
  • Find and join a local martial arts group and attend at least 3 meetings

Dealt with some of the gorier details in a matter-of-fact and practical way.

Dance Your Fanny Off

Hey all of you little folk, come to our library and get your dance on! This program is an open dance party for our littlest patrons to get movin' and groovin' with their grownups. This program is designed for new walkers up to 5 years old and is a great way to have some fun!

Lin the Face Reader

By focusing on your face for a few seconds, Lin Klaassen can tell your personality traits, habits, likes, tendencies, needs, expectations, and more. Lin will teach 10 facial traits that you can begin to read immediately. She will take questions and read random faces from the audience. Teens in grades 7-12, join us on Thursday, August 1 from 7:00-8:00 PM for an interesting and fun filled event.

On Tuesday, July 9 from 4:00-4:45 PM, Thirupu Siva will teach young people from 6-16 years of age the basic asanas, building up to various intermediate poses. Please wear loose fitting clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat to work on. Registration for this program begins on May 29.

Movie Mondays: Be Well & Back in Time

Bill and Ted's Excellent AdventureJoin us each Monday to beat the heat and enjoy fun films in our Community Room! Each week we'll fill the day with films for kids, adults, or the whole family!

Monday, July 8, we will BE WELL with some healthy viewing and go BACK IN TIME with some time-traveling classics. We'll start our day with a collection of stories about our favorite aardvark and end with two totally excellent dudes who ace their history assignment with the help of a very special phone booth.

You may bring pillows, snacks, even your own comfy lawn chairs if you like.
