Nothing's fair in fifth grade by Barthe DeClements
New girl Elsie Edwards is overweight and on a strict diet. She also has a penchant for getting herself into trouble in the classroom, and a strict mom who's ready to send Elsie to boarding school. With the help of some new friends Elsie makes, things slowly begin to look up, both with Elsie's health and her family issues. Life might not always be fair for a fifth-grader, but things do get better. I loved this book when I was young, and I still love it just as much today!
Say "Ahhh!": Dora goes to the doctor by Phoebe Beinstein ; illustrated by A&J Studios — I love Dora (and am trying to convince my parents that should be my younger sibling's name). In this book she goes to the doctor and is very brave.
