Come on out and see your Plymouth Whalers play some awesome hockey on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Not only is this their Alumni skate game, with players coming in from teams all over the country, but the Whalers are collecting canned goods for Gleaners. There are two ways to see the game: you can pay $10 for a ticket at the door or you can bring 10 cans of food to donate to a wonderful group. For more information, see the Plymouth Whalers website.
My family and I LOVE to play Boggle, so we play it all the time. Once we start, we can't stop. Its a fun way to get new vocabulary in while still having a fun time!
I was bored so I played Guess Who Extra with my little brother. You have to guess what the other persons character is by asking them questions. I won each time even though we didn't play for a very long time. When I was younger, I played it a lot. I used to love Guess Who Extra so much! :)
Occasionally, my dad and I will play Battleship together. Like I said before, I like to spend time with my dad. Battleship is a pretty fun game. Sometimes I will win, sometimes my will dad win. You never know what is going to happen each time you play it... :)
My team name was the Rays
Chess is a great way to exercise your mind this summer, and July 20th is International Chess Day. Chess is played world wide by millions of people and calls for some good strategy and thinking skills. If you would like to learn more about chess or try your hand at a game, open chess is available at the library on July 22, and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. You could also play or learn chess for your Conquer it or Game on Badge.
It was so fun to learn something new! It taught many things along the lines of teamwork, mental strength, physical fitness, and many forms of passing, and control over the ball. And how to tolerate people. Which really helped me out.
