Shared Experiences from 2013
Porcupining: a prickly love story by Lisa Wheeler ; illustrated by Janie Bynum — Finally earned my last badge by reading a book by a Michigan author! I feel for this porcupine who just wants some love. But who ever heard of a porcupine in a petting zoo?
Mustache baby by Bridget Heos ; illustrated by Joy Ang — A baby born with a mustache. Who'd ever heard of such a thing. But is it a good mustache or a bad one? You'll have to read to find out. This book reminded me of Snidely Whiplash from Dudley Do-Right and Professor Fate from The Great Race
Maisy learns to swim by Lucy Cousins — Learning how to swim is an important skill for staying well! A great read for a beginner swimmer nervous about what to expect in class!
Everyone sleeps by Marcellus Hall — I feel so bad for the sad looking Pug dog in this book! Everyone can sleep except for him! Insomnia is a drag.
Game on! by Jennifer L. Holm & Matthew Holm — I could have read this for Geek Out too, but since the title was Game On, I couldn't resist. Squish has some problems resisting the draw of a new video game, with some rather humbling consequences. Why haven't I read Squish before? He's lots of fun!
