I went to library and made a picture of a jaguar. I learned that every picture has a life. It's interesting, and I like it.
Flora and the flamingo by Molly Idle — I had to be VERY gentle with this one - there's lots of flaps to explore. But I had a great time watching Flora dance with the Flamingo. I had to be creative while I was reading it - there's no words, and the author/illustrator was very creative with the story and pictures.
Will Sparrow's road by Karen Cushman — I couldn't get into Will's character until about halfway through the book, when he started to open himself up to some of the other characters. I typically really enjoy Cushman's novels, and this one was fine, but was lacking some of the spice or polish of her other stories.
Catherine, called Birdy by Karen Cushman — This is my favorite of Karen Cushman's books - the diary of a medieval young girl who is being arranged into marriage. Catherine has plenty of personality, and the history comes through in her diary entries much more smoothly than it does in Will's tale.
