who knew vhs

VHS (Video Home System) is a widely-adopted videocassette recording ( VCR ) technology that was developed by Japan Victor Company (JVC) and put on the market in 1976. It uses magnetic tape 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) in width. Originally, the abbreviation VHS stood for Vertical Helical Scan, and was later changed as the technology gained in popularity.

read a series of books

I read a book to earn this badge:
the manga series Emma by Kaoru Mori.
I am interlibrary loaning a series of manga about a maid in late nineteenth-early twentieth centry London and her relationship with a gentleman who used to be the student of the woman Emma worked for. A delightful series that I am really enjoying.

Figured out something new on my tablet PC

I haven't had my Dell Latitude tablet for very long, just long enough that I feel pretty comfortable using it. But not so long that I know all there is to know about it. It's fun to discover something new every now and again.

Did a morning run with a buddy for an hour

Went out for lunch at this new restaurant with friends

Good food with good company

Walked at lunchtime

What a treat it was during my lunch hour today to venture outside and walk around the man-made lake behind the library. There I saw a blue heron fishing alongside a father and his two small kids, a couple of older guys with their remote controlled sailboats, which were just beautiful gliding on the surface of the lake. An older couple and their grown daughter sharing a picnic and a small flock of new ducklings and their mama happily swimming along. Not only did I get a great walk in but I got a great big dose of happy in the process!
