Watched the First Season of Doctor Who

After being surrounded by Doctor Who references for years, I'm finally clued in. The first episode in this season didn't hook me, but a friend recommended watching "Blink" and "Silence in the Library" from Seasons Three and Four. Those sucked me in and then I went back to the first season and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Saw "Thor" and "The Avengers" Over the Weekend

After watching Thor with my sister on Saturday, we thought that the best Father's Day gift for my dad was to go and take him to see The Avengers. These movies are such a blast! I was never much of a superhero fan, but now I'm trying to get the essential graphic novels for all of the Avengers.

I made homemade ice cream

The Book: Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream at Home

The Ice Cream Recipes Made:
  • Carmel
  • Beet-Poppy seed
  • Chocolate
  • Roasted Pistachio
  • Strawberry Buttermilk

The Chocolate, Pistachio and Carmel were a big hit at my house, but my favorite was the Beet-Poopy seed.  It was sweet and creamy, but had a unique tang to it.  Be careful not to spill it on anything, it does stain.
