I learned 5 new German words

I subscribe to the German blog which comes to my email so I learned Abshiedsfeuer=farewell party, Urauffuhrung=first viewing (movie), mutmasliche Tater (suspect), Die Physiker=Physicist and Erfolg=success.

Watched DVD "Glorious 39," set in pre-WWII England

I read Al Capone Does My Shirts

I learned about Alcatraz and San Francisco

I attended both the Liberty festival and the Strawberry festival this past weekend.

I've been checking out tons of travel books from the library to plan our Europe trip

My husband and I are going to Europe in August so I've been checking out travel guides for Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

I go to the new Canton dog park multiple times a week

My pugs love playing with the other dogs and getting attention from all the dog-loving people. Smile

I went to the Liberty Fest in Heritage Park on Saturday and I walk through the park every day at lunchtime.

Today I saw a mother duck and 8 ducklings in the pond!

My First Burger

Baby Boy ate his first burger from a (presumably) relatively happy cow @ Zingerman's Roadhouse. Yum!

Water Sports

Enjoyed the beautiful weather by splashing in my kiddie pool. Plan to check out some books on swimming at the CPL!

I made cookies using my new cookbook.

The cookies were really good.

I created an origami rose, which took me a very long time to make.

The origami rose is very hard to make, so my rose may not be perfect in the picture.

I watched the movie: Matilda based on the book written by Ronald Dahl.

I finished the book: Violet Wings written by Victoria Hanley today in under two hours.

I know, that might not be so exciting, but Violet Wings is a very long book.

Read "An Object of Beauty" by Steve Martin

"An Object of Beauty" tells the story of Lacey Yeager and her career in buying and selling art in New York from the late 1980s to the mid-2000s. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to "forget" that comedian Steve Martin wrote this book. While it's chock full of information about the art world, the story is also full of well-written prose and excellent character insight.

I tried a new recipe.

I tried a recipe for Ginger Roulade, a rolled ginger cake filled with cream. It was a huge hit!

Planned a trip to the San Francisco bay area

For early July, to see my brother. I'll finally get to see Alcatraz, Haight-Ashbury, Lombard Street, and the Computer History Museum!

Traveled back in time at Greenfield Village
