Read before bed

I've just about finished reading the third inthe Penderwicks series by Jeanne Birdsall.  The three younger sisters, Skye, Jane and Batty, go to Maine with their Aunt Claire and their honorary brother Jeffrey. Adventures inevitable ensue.   It really lives up to the rest of the series.  I love these girls! They make me laugh, and I identify with all of them.

Read book "Lost and Found" by Jacqueline Sheehan

In this book,a woman grieving over her husband's death moves to a small island off the coast of Maine. She accepts a job as the animal control warden and rescues a large black lab that has been shot with an arrow. She comes to love the dog and vice versa. In trying to find out what happened to the dog and his owner she moves past her grief and learns to live and love again.

Read Uh-oh, Cleo by Jessica Harper

Read the book, Marley's Big Adventure.

We also took our dog to the Canton Dog Park where he romped with 3-4 other dogs.

I saw Harry Potter 7.2 on opening weekend - but only after I read the book!

I watched all of Firefly and the subsequent movie Serenity with two of my friends.

While the plot is not cultural per se, the series takes place in the future where humans have moved to other planets and the only world superpowers to survive this transition were America and China, so the culture of the show is a mix of Asian and Western style worlds. The culture of the characters enhances the plot in ways that most TV shows and movies do not manage to do.
