Hunger Games Book Discussion

Join us on July 16 from 7:00-8:30 PM for a discussion of:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins — In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games," a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed.

Kristen will be leaving us in September to take a position as a head start teacher with the Campagna Center in Alexandria, Virginia. Please join us in celebrating the nearly 21 years Kristen has spent with CPL and wishing her all the best with a farewell reception on Thursday, September 15 from 5:00-6:30PM in the Purple Room.

Returned book at Wayne Public Library - Not showing up in Patrol Record (yet)

Hello I returned a book at Wayne Libray yesterday (8/17) evening. It is still showing up as checked out in Patrol Record. Can you tell me how long would it take for it to reflect as being returned? As this book is due today (8/18), I am worried if I will be charged late fee.

Storytime

Will there be Storytime in the fall? Looking at the calendar, it looks like there's just a playgroup available.

Clash of the Titans

I placed DVD Clash of the Titans (2010) on hold thinking this was the recent remake. It turns out this is the original from 1981 which was apparently reissued in 2010. There are 61 holds on this so I am guessing that other people made the same mistake. Is the library planning on ordering the remake of Clash of the Titans? Thank you.

MY ACCOUNT

Is there not any way I can review on line what I have borrowed in the past? I've listened to quite a few and am starting to have a hard time picking what I have not already listened to by certain authors. Kindly respond. Thank you
