Starfish Family Services provide free, high quality, early literacy training to day care providers, caregivers and parents. They teach topics developed by the independent, non-profit HighScope Educational Research Foundation whose mission it is to train and develop people in early learning commuities. Join us on the second Monday of each month at 6:30PM as Starfish's instructors share one of over 30 training topics. Topics will be announced as they are received from the agency.

May 14 - Engagement and Family Partnerships - Participants will learn the importance of developing strong relationships with families and strategies to support sustained partnerships and engagement.
June 11 - Parent/Teacher conferences - Participants will learn why parent-teacher conferences are important and how to plan, conduct and evaluate meaning conferences.

Designed for babies 18 months and younger with a loving adult, Baby Storytime features simple stories, songs, and rhymes carefully chosen to build awareness of language and vocabulary, foster a love of books, and provide a fun, interactive experience for babies and parents/caregivers.

Bored after school? Need a study break? No worries, we've got fun activities in our Teen Space that are just right for your busy schedule. Stop by for 5 or 50 minutes, whatever works for you. Learn something new, meet a new friend, or just relieve some stress.

NHS students from PCCS's The Park are here to provide 3rd-12th graders free homework help. If you're interested in getting tutored:

  • You must be in 3rd through 12th grade
  • If you're under 12, your parent must remain in the library
  • You must bring the assignment and any other needed materials

Days and Times

  • Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library

There will be no tutoring during breaks or school closures/snow days.

Those seeking tutoring will be helped on a first come first, served basis. They will be allowed a 30 minute maximum if there is a line.

Together with a Youth Librarian, you can build early literacy skills in a welcoming environment through meaningful stories, songs, and play. Encourage a love of language and reading while practicing listening and cooperative tasks. We look forward to sharing this experience with you. Every Family Storytime is followed by a half hour of ABC Activity Time. No registration required.

Get help with those tech issues you can't quite figure out on your own. We've assembled a team of tech savvy volunteers to help you find the answers to your computer and smartphone questions. Whether you need help while working on a project on our computers, setting up an e-mail address, or downloading an app on your phone, we can help. Volunteers are available at our WebExpress computers Wednesdays 5:00 - 9:00 PM. No appointment or registration required.

Computer Skills Help for Beginners, to learn foundational skills through activities, will also be offered on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Every public computer in the library now has self-guided activities for practice with mouse skills, copying/pasting, and more, with trusted experts on hand every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning to answer any questions you may have or connect you to additional resources. Computer Skills Help for Beginners provides a safe space to build confidence and learn the things you need to feel “computer savvy” in the Digital Age.

Join us as we learn about a different American Girl character at each meeting through crafts, games and activities. Celebrate a love of both historical and modern stories from all walks of life.

No prior knowledge of the books or character is needed. If you have an American Girl doll feel free to bring them, and a friend! This program is open to ages 8-12. Registration required.
