Get help with those tech issues you can't quite figure out on your own. We've assembled a team of tech savvy volunteers to help you find the answers to your computer and smartphone questions. Whether you need help while working on a project on our computers, setting up an e-mail address, or downloading an app on your phone, we can help. Volunteers are available at our WebExpress computers Wednesdays 5:00 - 9:00 PM. No appointment or registration required.

Computer Skills Help for Beginners, to learn foundational skills through activities, will also be offered on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Every public computer in the library now has self-guided activities for practice with mouse skills, copying/pasting, and more, with trusted experts on hand every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning to answer any questions you may have or connect you to additional resources. Computer Skills Help for Beginners provides a safe space to build confidence and learn the things you need to feel “computer savvy” in the Digital Age.

American Girl Star Logo

Join us as we learn about a different American Girl character at each meeting through crafts, games and activities. Celebrate a love of both historical and modern stories from all walks of life.

No prior knowledge of the books or character is needed. If you have an American Girl doll feel free to bring them, and a friend! This program is open to ages 8-12. Registration required.

Family Storytime provides an opportunity for caregivers to actively engage with their children under age 5. Together with a Youth Librarian, you can build early literacy skills in a welcoming environment through meaningful stories, songs, and play. Encourage a love of language and reading while practicing listening and cooperative tasks. We look forward to sharing this experience with you. Every Family Storytime is followed by a half hour of ABC Activity Time. No registration required.

Do you like making art? Do you like when things go splat? If so, you’ll want to contribute to the community art piece we’re creating for Canton Acts of Culture Week. We’ll be set up outside the library entrance, stop by on your way in and help us splatter paint on canvas! No registration is required.

NHS students from PCCS's The Park are here to provide 3rd-12th graders free homework help. If you're interested in getting tutored:

  • You must be in 3rd through 12th grade
  • If you're under 12, your parent must remain in the library
  • You must bring the assignment and any other needed materials

Days and Times

  • Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library
  • Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Children's Library

There will be no tutoring during breaks or school closures/snow days.

Those seeking tutoring will be helped on a first come first, served basis. They will be allowed a 30 minute maximum if there is a line.

CPL is governed by a six-member Library Board of Trustees of community members elected quadrennially on a nonpartisan ballot. The Board meets at 7:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month. You are invited to attend.

Preschool storytimes feature longer books, flannel board and rhymes designed for children ages 3 1/2 - 5. These activities help develop pre-reading and school-readiness skills.  Children must be able to sit independently and be attentive for 30 minutes. Parents may attend, if needed, to help transition their child to this program. All parents must remain in the lobby area or in the children's department. Storytimes will be held in the Community Room from 2:00 - 2:30 pm starting Friday, April 20 through Friday, May 25. There is no Monday morning preschool storytime during our staff renovation. Register online beginning Thursday, March 22.
