Join us on Monday, February 20 for an all day family movie extravaganza starting at 10:00 AM with a film for our youngest patrons and gradually getting more sophisticated, until the 6:30 PM showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

There Was a Man Who Loved a Rat

There was a man who loved a rat and other vile little poems by written by Gerda Rovetch ; illustrated by Lissa Rovetch — is full of colorful, short poems will make you laugh and declare how gross they are all at the same time! My favorites are the man who kept sardines in his pants, the man who baked bread with a snake, and the man who found a kidney. Which ones did you enjoy?

Author Jeffrey Zaslow Visits

Wall Street journalist and bestselling author Jeffrey Zaslow pays us a visit. Zaslow is best known for such amazing books as The Last Lecture, The Girls from Ames, Gabby: a story of courage and hope and many more. His newest novel, The Magic Room debuted in January and recounts the hopes, dreams and transformations of thousands of women who visit The Magic Room in Becker's Bridal Salon in Fowler, Michigan at one of the most important moments of their lives. The Underground Railroad in Michigan by Carol Mull

In the mid-nineteenth century, Michigan citizens rose up to protest the moral offense of slavery. Among other campaigns, the Underground Railroad was established as a network of escape from slavery. Local author Carol Mull shares first-person accounts with an historical overview as we continue our celebration of Black History Month. SBA Forum on Small Business Lending

Before you apply for a business loan, first attend a free financing roundtable. Schoolcraft College MI-SBTDC Business Development Center will be hosting a forum on small business lending on Friday, January 20th from 9:00 AM-Noon at the Schoolcraft Livonia campus with teams of bankers, an SBA representative, an SBA business counselor, and business owners like you. The roundtables are best suited for those who have good credit, a solid business idea, and some money to invest in the business. This event is free, but you will need to register online.
