Tower-trapped Green Golly (unlike Rapunzel) is so inspired by life she can’t help but make music. This Parents’ Choice Gold Award Winning introduction to classical music uses musical storytelling and comedy to inspire imagination, creativity and positive self-expression. Green Golly is the delightfully funny, flute playing heroine who models discipline, overcoming challenges, thinking creatively and the development of character. Juilliard trained flutist and educator Barbara Siesel is Green Golly and award winning actor-storyteller-songwriter Keith Torgan is everyone else! Raja Yoga Meditation helps you reach a deeper understanding of yourself, your intrinsic positive qualities and your innate value. There is beauty in all of us and through meditation the inner beauty not only is revealed to the self, but also to the people around us. On Saturday, April 30 from 4:00-5:45PM, join practitioners from the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University to explore these universal concepts and encourage your inner spiritual development toward a fresh perspective on values such as justice, freedom, respect and love. Sessions will be interactive and experiential, where your tools for the inward journey will be explored and shared.

On the second Monday of each month during 2016,  the highly trained staff from Starfish Family Services will present selected Early  Learning Community workshops for parents, caregivers and daycare providers. Join us on Monday, April 11 from 6:30-8:30PM to explore Active Learning.  Participants will grasp the importance of learning through play and learning the five ingredients and benefits of active learning.

The Montessori method and philosophy is well proven and scientific. It is process oriented and helps the child normalize in a prepared environment and utilize his/her fullest potential. This method has worked for 100 plus years and if used will lay a solid foundation for your childrens' lives.

The aim of this on-going program is to provide parents the necessary tools to prepare their environment to suit the needs of their child, to set simple and workable ground rules and to help their child build his/her concentration, confidence, coordination, independence and order. The program's vision is to create a positive and joyful parenting experience that helps the child develop in all aspects of life. Parents may receive lesson plans from actual school environments to use or make at home. This program is presented by the staff from  Banyan Montessori Academy.

Join some area high school seniors as they provide practice SAT exams for juniors in high school in preparation for the forthcoming school-administered exam. They will also work to cover and teach test tips for the critical reading, writing, and mathematics sections.

Since both of the instructors have a lot of experience with standardized testing and have done well (both earned perfect scores on the ACT), they want to help teach students who do not have the opportunity to pay for tutors or prep classes. This program is recommended for 11th graders, although 10th graders may also attend. Registration is required for the entire series.  The program will take place from 4:30-6:00 PM on the following dates:
