On Saturday, October 15 from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM we will host a day's worth of fantastic, energetic, diverse musical acts. Come and celebrate the beat within all of us. This program is designed for families and patrons of all ages. The schedule is as follows...

Now he's branching out even further to rock the socks off of families all over the place and he's even won a Parent's Choice "Fun Stuff" Award for his most recent album, Playtime. An Afternoon with WWE Wrestler and American Ninja Warrior, Zach Gowen

Michigan resident Zach Gowen is not your typical amputee. He lost his leg to cancer at age 8 and survived many ups and downs in his life. Zach went on to become the first one legged professional wrestler in history signing a 3 year contract with the WWE. Once his stint was complete, Zach continued his life journey with a number of achievements including the development of his wrestling tag team The Handicapped Heroes and recent appearance on American Ninja Warrior this past June.

Because of this exposure, Zach has turned his attention to supporting the non-profit, The Range of Motion Project (ROMP) whose mission it is to provide high quality prosthetic care and unlocks human potential in underserved populations across the globe. On July 23, in support of ROMP and the American with Disabilities Act, amputees will literally climb mountains in ten different countries. In solidarity with these climbs, Zach will come to Canton Public Library to host a ROMP documentary, show his instructor skills with a DDP Yoga movement demo and conduct a Q&A on his myriad of experiences all to raise awareness for the Range of Motion Project. Join us for the fun and don't forget to bring your own yoga mat or blanket and wear comfortable clothing for the yoga demo.

Parenting the Montessori Way

The Montessori method and philosophy is well proven and scientific. It is process oriented and helps the child normalize in a prepared environment and utilize his/her fullest potential. This method has worked for 100 plus years and if used will lay a solid foundation for your childrens' lives. The aim of this on-going program is to provide parents the necessary tools to prepare their environment to suit the needs of their child, to set simple and workable ground rules and to help their child build his/her concentration, confidence, coordination, independence and order. The program's vision is to create a positive and joyful parenting experience that helps the child develop in all aspects of life. Parents may receive lesson plans from actual school environments to use or make at home. This program is presented by the staff from Banyan Montessori Academy.
