It is for me at least!  Suzanne Collin's The Hunger Games is entirely different from Twilight, but for me it had the exact same effect.  I can not wait for the next book in the series, Catching Fire (The Hunger Games Series #2).  The popularity of the Hunger Game series is already evident and I am certain it will only continue to grow.  I can also see great potential for The Hunger Games movie.  If you are looking for a new series to talk about with your friends or your   hairstylist, The Hunger Games might just be your best bet.
