prog.coord's Blog en-US Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover
We're looking for some special people to become part of the library catalog. Are you a religious leader in the Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Jewish faiths? Are you a vegetarian, a policeman, an atheist, a gay/lesbian person, a U.S. military veteran, a rock recording artist, a published author or any other interesting or unusual person? If so, we want you.

The Canton Public Library is starting a Living Books program where patrons can check out "living books" (that would be YOU) for 30 minutes of face-to-face, one-on-one conversation. These interviews are intended to answer questions for the curious, satisfy special interests and beliefs and learn from others' experiences. With dialogue comes understanding - with understanding comes tolerance.

We would like to celebrate the Canton community's diversity, share ideas, dispel stereotypes and come together with acceptance. To become a "living book" please call Marcia at 734.397.0999 X 1079 for an initial interview and learn the particulars of the program.
Arts and Crafts Business Education News Religion and Spirituality Social Science Teens Adults Parents Seniors library catalog Living book Mon, 22 Jun 2009 14:37:36 +0000 prog.coord 12699 at Book & Author Luncheon The Friends of the Canton, Plymouth, Northville and Novi Libraries present the 23rd annual Book & Author Luncheon featuring guest author and speaker Paula Tutman, WDIV reporter.
Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Fox Hills Country Club in Plymouth Twp.
Lunch included. Seating at 11:30 with lunch at 12 noon.
Tutman is the author of Deadline, a thriller loosely based on her true life experience as a police reporter.
Tickets available at library reception desk for $25 from April 1 to May 4.
