Writing Conference and Contest

Detroit Working Writers (DWW) is hosting a one‐day creative celebration designed for writers of all genres and skill levels. Michigan novelist Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, author of the Emily Kincaid mystery series, will be the keynote speaker. Workshops will feature topics in poetry, micro fiction, social media, and self‐publishing, among others. The conference will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at the Main Branch of the Clinton‐Macomb Public Library.

Michigan residents are invited to participate in DWW’s pre‐conference 2012 Writing Contest. DWW members will judge entries in five genres : creative nonfiction, fiction, journalism, poetry and scriptwriting. Winners need not be present to win. All entries must be postmarked by July 15, 2012.
