Starting June 18 enter our Connect Your Summer 2012 Manga Drawing Contest and you could win some great prizes (a special 'thank you' to Chou Anime Cafe for donating). Last day to enter is August 3. Prizes will be awarded for 3 different age categories: 5th-6th, 7th-9th, and 10th-12th grades. Plus 3 prizes for those who best represent this summer's badges.

Contest Rules

  1. Entries must be submitted by students entering 5th–12th grade. Winners will be chosen in three divisions: 5th-6th, 7th-9th, and 10th-12th
  2. Three additional winners will be chosen for drawings that best represent the theme of our Connect Your Summer Badges. Pick one to creatively represent:
    • Be Well (health and wellness)
    • Chow Down (for foodies and cooking enthusiasts)
    • Conquer It (an opportunity to take on a challenge)
    • Curtains Up (for music, theater and the arts fans)
    • Game On (sports and games of all kinds)
    • Geek Out (technology and geeky fun)
    • Go Wild (nature, environment and the great outdoors)
    • Hands On (for crafters, makers and do-it-yourselfers)
    • Love It (your favorites)
    • Make Tracks (for pet and animal lovers)
    • Sleuth It (mysteries, puzzles, investigations)
    • Time Travel (history, genealogy and the future)
  3. Drawings can be of anything: a copy of your favorite character, an original character you’ve made up, or a story in comic strip form, but all art must be your own. You may get inspiration or instruction from a book, but please do not copy the images inside exactly
  4. Limit of 2 art entries per person (they can represent different badges, or the same)
  5. All participants' entries, with consent, will be displayed on the CPL website. Note: if you are under 18, it is assumed that you have your parents' permission to have your artwork displayed online
  6. The deadline for all entries is August 3, 2012. Paper entries will be available for pick up after August 11. Last day to retrieve artwork is September 1

You can submit your artwork using the paper entry form (if so, please drop off your artwork in a manila envelope with your name on it at the library), or online here starting June 18.

Hey!!!
I agree! That is a very beautiful and colorful drawing. I drew something but i'm not sure if I should enter it. I encourage anybody who has the same love for art as I do to enter the contest even if you don't think you'll win. Anything could happen...
