Social Security Statements Now Accessible Online

Workers who have paid into the Social Security system can now view their personalized earnings and benefits information with the launch of a new portal by the U.S. Social Security Administration. The new online Social Security Statement replaces the annual paper statement that was suspended for those between the ages of 25 and 60. Individuals 18 and older can register and create an account and once verified can access their statement and view benefits. In February Social Security resumed mailing paper Statements to workers age 60 and older if they are not already receiving Social Security benefits.

The NCAA Men's Championship Basketball Tournament has evolved into one of the most prominent annual sporting events in the United States. Millions of fans predict the ultimate winner by filling out brackets in this single elimination tournament that begins in March and ends in April.

Canton Cricket

A major sport in England and India, cricket is becoming more popular here in the United States. In fact, Canton recently unveiled the Township's first cricket field in Heritage Park. Kids! Score Tickets for the Red Wings or Pistons

Reminder: Deadline to enter for free Pistons tickets is April 4th. Tickets for the Detroit Red Wings are sold out.

The Michigan Education Association is rewarding students for reading through the "Michigan Reads" program. The simple program requires children and teens to work with either an educator or parent. Students need to read five age appropriate books between now and April 1, 2011. Once that parent or educator confirms the books have been read, they go to www.michiganreads.com to select the Pistons or Red Wings, enter contact information and the list of books read. Within a few days, the team will respond. So get going and read five to see the Pistons or Red Wings Live!
