Michigan eLibrary Celebrates 20 Years
Michigan's 24/7 digital library, Michigan eLibrary, celebrates it's 20th Anniversary! MeL is one of the oldest online libraries on the internet. This valuable resource provides statewide access to over 40 commercial databases and contains librarian-recommended Web sites on a variety of subjects such as business, genealogy, health, etc. MeLCat, the statewide borrowing system allows patron initiated interlibrary loan requests is also hosted by MeL.- Login to comment

Area apple orchards and cider mills have opened for the fall season! Enjoy some cider, doughnuts, u-pick apples, pumpkins, hay rides and much more. Plan an outing and stock up on the seasonal goodies while they last. Go for a wagon ride at the nearby Plymouth Orchards and Cider Mill on Warren Road between Napier and Gotfredson Roads. Local Swimmer Goes for Gold!
Canton native Allison Schmitt will compete in four swimming events at the Summer Olympics in London. Considered one of the best middle distance swimmers in the country, Schmitt is a member of Team USA for the second time. She won a bronze in the 800m freestyle relay in Beijing in 2008. Allison will begin competiton on Saturday July 28th and continue everyday until Wednesday if she makes the finals in each of her events; 200m and 400m freestyle and the 400m and 800m freestyle relays. Summer Saturdays Walking Club
As part of our Connect Your Summer Program join us Saturday July 28th and earn the Be Well Badge by walking around the lake at Heritage Park. Meet at the "clock" adjacent to the library at noon with friends or family. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, sunscreen, etc. We'll do three laps around the lake, more that a mile, which should take about 30 minutes!
