Please take a moment….
…to take out bookmarks when returning our materials. Our staff works hard to return items to the shelf in a timely manner, so please take a moment to be sure that what you borrow comes back to the library in the condition it was borrowed.

Exciting Renovations at the Library
Look around the area of the Checkout Desk and adult DVD section to see some exciting changes. The Hold Shelf is now located closer to the Checkout Desk, making it easier for staff to assist when necessary. Adult DVDs, both feature and TV series, have also been moved to a new location, giving each of these popular collections room to grow. We've also moved all adult and teen gaming system games to the area by the DVDs. We're thrilled by our new shelving and hope you will be too. If you need a little help with navigating through the new area, stop by one of the service desks where our staff will be happy to lend a hand.

Due Dates While the Library is Closed
Due to a system error on December 10 and 11, some checked out items registered an incorrect due date. If you borrowed materials on one of those days and were given a due date of January 2nd or 3rd, please be assured that you will not be charged late fees if you don’t return or renew them until we re-open on January 4th. If you do choose to return the items on any day that the library is closed for the holidays, it’s easy to use our automated check in system. Remember though, following the posted directions and placing only one item at a time in the chute, when the light is green, is the only way to be sure your items are checked in correctly.

Overdue Fines Change
Remember that we’re standardizing overdue fines throughout the library beginning January 4, 2011. Late charges on Children’s, Tween, and Teen materials will increase from 10¢ to 20¢ for each day they are returned after their due date. This increase will make fine amounts consistent throughout the collections. See our loan policies for more borrowing information.

Browse the carts too!
You'll see book carts strewn about the library this summer full of items newly checked in. Please, feel free to look through the carts and help yourself to whatever suits your interest, just the way you would peruse the shelves. You may find a rare gem, or one you've been waiting for, and it's a good way to see what other people are reading and watching.
