The K Club

Children ages 4-6 who are pre-K or in kindergarten are invited to this program designed especially for them. We will have great stories, a snack and a craft centered around a Christmas theme. Come join us for this fun time at the library on Monday, December 23, 11:00-11:45 AM.

Preschool Storytimes

Preschool storytimes are a fun celebration of story and words designed for children ages 3-5. Children must be able to sit attentively and participate for 30 minutes. Parents may attend, or must remain in the children's department. Storytimes will be held in the purple room starting Monday, November 11 through Friday, December 13. Registration is online and begins Friday, October 25. We welcome you at one of the following sessions:
*Please note that we are closed November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no programming on that day.

Where are the Puppets?

Many of the puppets in the children's department have gone on vacation for a few days to be cleaned and sanitized. They will be back soon, and look forward to playing with their many fans.

Children ages 4-6 who are pre-k or in kindergarten are invited to this program designed especially for them. We will have stories, a snack and a craft designed around pumpkins and fall. Don't miss out on this great time at the library on Tuesday, October 22, 4:00-4:45 PM.

Donuts with Dad

A father reading a book to his childrenCome celebrate Father's Day with your special Dad or Grandpa on Thursday, June 13 from 7:00-7:45pm. We will share some great "Dad" stories together, make a craft and enjoy some donuts. Designed for children ages 3-5. Take advantage of this opportunity to share together!

We Love Clifford!

Come and meet Clifford, the BIG RED DOG! This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Clifford Book. We will celebrate Clifford at our Big Red Program on June 27 from 7:00-7:45 PM. This program is for children ages 2-6. Supplies provided in the Clifford Celebration Program are limited to those children registered.

Puppet Kits

Who doesn't love a puppet show? Puppets help us tell stories in fun, creative ways. Did you know that you can check out a book that comes with a puppet? We have puppet kits at the library that include a picture book with one or more puppets representing a main character from the story. Using the puppets is a great way to help make the story come alive for you! Enjoy it by yourself, or put on a puppet show for family or friends!

There will be no storytime on Monday, May 27 as the library will be closed for Memorial Day.  We welcome you at one of the following sessions :
  • Mondays 10:00-10:30 AM
  • Wednesdays 7:00-7:30 PM
  • Fridays 1:00-1:30 PM

Schneider Family Book Award

"Back to Front and Upside Down!" written and illustrated by Claire Alexander, is the winner of the Schneider Family Book Award 2013 for children ages 0-10. This award is for books that embody an artistic expression of the disabililty experience. A Dog called Homeless" written by Sarah Lean, is the winner of this award for middle school kids, ages 11-13. The teen award winner, for ages 13-18, is "Somebody, Please Tell Me Who I Am," by Harry Mazer and Peter Lerangis.
