Where are the Puppets?

Many of the puppets in the children's department have gone on vacation for a few days to be cleaned and sanitized. They will be back soon, and look forward to playing with their many fans.

Curious George Celebration

There will be a plenty of "monkey business" at our Curious George program on Tuesday, June 24, 7:00-7:45 .We will celebrate our favorite monkey with a story, games and crafts. This program is designed for children ages 3-7. Supplies provided in this program are limited to those children registered.

K Club

Big ears are welcome at our K Club program this spring! Children ages 4-6 will enjoy stories, a snack and a craft centered around a rabbit theme. Hop on over to this fun program on April 19, 2:00-2:45 PM.

Target Family Reading Night

Are you tired of winter? Its been a rough one, and we will anticipate the coming of Spring at the Target Family Reading Night on Tuesday, March 11, 7:00-8:00pm.  This program is for children ages 4-8 and their caregivers.  It will include stories, crafts, an activity and snack. Families will also take home a special book. This program is sponsored by Target and the Friends of the Canton Public Library.

Olympic Gold Winners, Sochi 2014

Meryl Davis and Charlie White from Michigan are the first American pair to win an ice dancing medal in the winter Olympics. Davis and White won the gold medal in ice dance on Monday for their nearly flawless performance. Both skaters attend University of Michigan and have been skating together since they were young children. The couple practice at the Artic Edge Ice Arena in Canton! Congratulations Meryl and Charlie!

Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award

Knock Knock: My Dad's Dream for Me," illustrated by Bryan Collier is the 2014 King illustrator book winner.  The book was written by Daniel Beaty and published by Little, Brown and Company, Hachette Book Group. Nelson Mandela, written and illustrated by Kadir Nelson is the King illustrator Honor book.

K Club

Children ages 4-6 who are pre-k or in kindergarten are invited to this program created just for them. We will share some silly stories together, and enjoy a snack and a craft around this fun theme. Come join our giggles at the library on February 22, 11:00-11:45 PM.

Preschool Storytimes

Preschool storytimes are a fun celebration of story and words designed for children ages 3-5. Children must be able to sit attentively and participate for 30 minutes. Parents may attend, or must remain in the children's department. Storytimes will be held in the purple room starting Monday, January 6 through Friday, February 14. Registration is online and begins December 23. We welcome you to one of the following sessions:
