Want to Start Your Own Book Club?

Children's Book Club in a Bag provides everything your group needs for a great discussion all in one easy kit! This gives you the opportunity to conduct book discussions like those that take place at the library but, with Children's Book Club-in-a-Bag, you can do it wherever and whenever you like. Each kit contains eight copies of one title and a list of discussion questions.
  • Kits may be checked out for eight weeks, but can't be renewed

Halloween Fun

Children, ages 2-4, are invited to wear a costume and participate in fun Halloween activities. Register for one timeslot.

Family Reading Night Programs

The Canton Public Library is the recipient of a $2,000 Target Store Early Childhood Reading Grant. Money from the grant, combined with funds from the Friends of the Canton Public Library, is used for Family Reading Nights at the Canton Public Library. Programs include stories, games and snacks and are open to families with children ages 4-9. Participants receive a free book.

Storytime Registration

Storytime registration begins Monday, August 30. Storytimes begin the week of September 13. Children must have their own library card to register for storytime. Check out this video to see some of the fun activities we do in storytime.

We have storytimes for various ages: For families planning to bring children of multiple ages, please sign up for the Family Storytime.

Summer Reading Winners

We hope you had fun participating in our Summer Reading Program this year. The Canton Public Library had 4,487 patrons register for the program this year. Attached is the list of the raffle drawing winners. Children, tweens and teens can come to the Children's Desk to receive their prizes. Adult prizes will be available at the Adult Desk. Winners will have until September 4, 2010 to pick up their prizes. Congratulations to everyone!
