As my father always said, "There is no point to living in Michigan unless you can eat home-grown tomatoes in the summer." There is absolutely NOTHING that compares with a Michigan tomato from your own backyard. August without tomatoes is like FaceBook without a face....or something like that. All year long I think, fantasize, and plan for the next tomato season. However, I have lived long enough to meet people who are not so totally taken with tomatoes - strange aliens to Michigan is all I can say who haven't a clue about what is truly of value in life. Be that as it may, everyone can enjoy these totally terrific tomato tales:
Mystery of the Hairy Tomatoes (Stanley);
Tomatoes from Mars (Yorinks);
The Great Fake-Out (Phil of the Future).
