Celiac Awareness Month
May is Celiac Awareness month. Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disorder that is caused by an intolerance to the protein gluten, which is found in wheat and related grains, affects over a million Americans. Since the symptoms mimic other disorders, many people go undiagnosed. A gluten-free diet is the only treatment at this time.
