Are you a fan of Louise Rennison's book series that began with Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging? It has been quite a while since I read a book that impressed me as much as The Nobodies Album by Carolyn Parkhurst. The story revolves around a best-selling author who has been estranged from her famous rock-singer son for the past four years, a residual effect of a past family tragedy. When her son is suddenly charged with the murder of his girlfriend, however, she desperately tries to make her way back into his life and piece together what actually happened. Interspersed throughout the novel are chapters of the newest book the main character is working on, which is a compilation of the endings of all of her previous books followed by new endings for each them.
