Brewing Beer with George

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy" is falsely attributed to Ben Franklin. Franklin was actually talking about rain. However, the popular phrase will be highlighted as local homebrewer, George Hotelling, shares his brewing expertise and shows us how to brew up a batch of his finest beer. DIA Spanish Masterpieces - CANCELED

Picasso’s Melancholy Woman returns to the DIA this summer after being on loan to several prestigious museums. In celebration of its return, the DIA is hosting Five Spanish Masterpieces by the likes of Goya, El Greco, Dali and more. The exhibit actually contains much more than just five masterworks.

We're also celebrating our participation in the DIA Inside|Out project, that is. Have you seen our lovely Young Woman with a Violin by Italian artist Orazio Gentileschi?

Screenplay Writers Workshop

Tea, Biscuits and Sherlock Holmes

Relax with a biscuit and a cup of proper tea and help the one-and-only Sherlock Holmes solve mysteries. We will show classic Sherlock Holmes movies for your pleasure throughout the afternoon and evening on July 30 beginning at 2:00 PM.

International Murders

Adult librarian, Joyce Simowski, shares her vast knowledge of international murder mysteries. Come learn about new authors and new detectives who are sure to intrigue you and fill your summer afternoons lounging around the pool and reading. Joyce will have lists to share on July 23 at 7:00 PM.

Nature Photography

See through the eyes of professional photographer, Rick Lieder. We will wander the library grounds to capture on film bugs and wildlife. The library will provide disposable cameras or you may bring your own. Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from this gifted professional. Join other adults on July 17th at Noon.

Tuesday's Child

Enjoy an afternoon of great traditional and folk music from local band, Tuesday's Child. The group includes two library staff members. Stick around at the end for a special instrument petting zoo of unusual instruments like a dulcimer, mandolin and more. All ages are welcome onSunday, July 15 at 3:00 PM.

Knit Night

Join other handcrafters for an evening of sharing and learning. All ages and stages are welcome at this informal gathering on Monday, September 10th at 7:00 PM in the Purple Room.

Quilt Exhibition and Show


See the lovely display of quilts created by the Canton Poke and Stab quilt club. You will have the opportunity to vote for your favorites and prizes qill be awarded based on your votes. Visit the display in the Community Room on:
