Join us Monday, November 12, 6:30-8:30 PM at the library to play on our insane 10ft x 10ft Scrabble board. Test your ultimate Scrabble skills on a team; you can either stop by for a word or two, or stay the entire time!

Harry Potter Fan Fiction Contest

Love Harry Potter? Why not enter our Harry Potter Fan Fiction Contest.  Write about your favorite characters, objects, spells or any other aspect from the wonderful Harry Potter series.  Prizes will be given for the top pieces in the following age categories: 6th-8th grade, 9th-10th grade, 11th-12th grade, and even for adults.  We will begin taking submissions on November 1 and will receive entries no later than November 21. See rules and how to enter here.  One entry per person, please.  Join us on November 30 at 4:00 PM when we will host a Final Reception to announce the winners.

Japan Airlines just unveiled a stunning new Boeing 787 the other day. It's decorated by Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki and seven other winners of a chidlren's art contest. As part of the project, Japan Airlines will be screening some Miyazaki movies during flights. Check out some of our Studio Ghibli movies, on or off the ground.

Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender has been getting a lot of buzz lately. Huge revelations. Gut wrenching plot twists. And, characters you love that bite the dust... Equal parts philosophy, romance, and violence, this series -definitely  for older teens- has been touted as one of the best x-men books out, and it's no lie. Check it out.

Dark Knight Returns Gets The Animated Treatment

Batman: the Dark Knight returns — the classic graphic novel by Frank Miller is being adapted into two animated movies. We’ve got the first one coming to the library soon. This is edgy, dark and beautiful stuff, for you batman fans out there. See IGN's video review where they name it as one of the best DC animated movies to date.
