Thorndyke Thoughts

Hey Kids!
I just wanted to make you all aware of some very important holidays this week. Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14th is National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work day. It's kinda like take your Children to Work Day, except for bears. Make sure your parents know! Probably the best way to make sure they celebrate it would be to sneak your teddy bear into their work bag before they leave. Then make sure you ask what your teddy did at work when they get home.

And then, on Thursday, October 15th, make sure you celebrate National Grouch Day. Wear your best frown and some green in honor of everyone's favorite grouch. Tell everyone to "Scram", and sing about your love of trash. Finally, watch Follow That Bird so that you can hum along with the Grouch Anthem at the beginning.

Finally, on Friday, October 16th, make sure you celebrate Dictionary Day. We celebrate it on the 16th because that is Noah Webster's Birthday. You could celebrate by going to his house at Greenfield Village! Or by reading Frindle by Andrew Clements. Or you could just look up "didgeridoo" in the dictionary and use it in a sentence.
Have fun celebrating!
