The Return of Die Hard's John McClane
In 1988 Director John McTiernan and writers Jeb Stuart and Steven E. de Souza revolutionized the action movie with "Die Hard". The film starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman introduced movie goers to John McClane, a charismatic New York City Cop who was different than your typical action movie hero because he was very human and had a sharp sense of humor.
McClane's adventures would inspire three sequels and this August the popular film character is moving into a new medium, the four color world of comic books. "Die Hard: Year One", a new ongoing series from from Boom! Studios by writer Howard Chaykin and artist Stephen Thompson takes the character back to the roots and shows how he became the terrorist fighter movie audience know and love. Chaykin recently spoke to the Eisner Award nominated Comic Book News Site Comic Book Resources about what fans can expect from the series.
If you've never seen any of McClane's cinematic adventures or just want to watch them all over again the library has got you covered. They've got copies of Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, and the most recent film Live Free or Die Hard all available for checkout.
