The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, has been nominated for two Academy Awards - Best Art Direction and Best Costume. Based on the book Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire  by Amanda Foreman, the film chronicles the life of the 18th century aristocrat (and ancestor of Princess Diana) Georgiana Spencer , who became  a celebrity of British high society when she married the Duke of Devonshire at the age of 17.
